Liz provides individual coaching and tuition for sailors keen to improve their racing skills, and supports Mark Rushall's coaching services.

Liz is a one of the UK’s top female sailors, both as a helm and crew.  She has represented Great Britain at Olympic and World level and she continues to demonstrate her competitiveness on the water.

Her racing career includes numerous national and international dinghy and keelboat events, and she was a squad member of the RYA Sail for Gold Team 1993-1995, training for the Atlanta Olympics in the 470 class.

Now she can usually be found at the back of a sportboat or small keelboat on mainsheet, tactics or helming.  Between 2003 and 2006, Liz steered her all women team to finish consistently each year in the top 10 overall in the Round the Island Race, out of a fleet of approximately 1600 boats.

John Derbyshire, RYA Racing Manager

In talking to a very tired daughter last night, I think she definitely took a huge amount away from the session – she said she learnt loads – and your experiences as both helm and crew, had clearly helped her to realise the value (and potential) of crews and crewing!!

I think, from what she said, there is a long way to go for them both, but they both have lots to work on, given your input, and she seems up for it.

Thanks again

Your training [in the SB3] was just great last week. I learnt loads and cannot wait to do some more sailing on the boat.

Thanks for all of your help getting the boat rigged, that was really important too, I would have been in the dark otherwise...
